Food For Work Program

The Chin state, full of mountains, of rivers and streams is geographically not favored by the nature in the sense that it does not yield any natural resources except human beings. A region where there is no natural resource is logically backward for inhabitants who cannot have access to contemporary progress of the globe. Therefore CAD puts itself as change agent for further development of people in remote areas where people have very limited access to progressive opportunities.

CAD believes that one of fundamental needs for rural development is existence of good transportation or communication in remote regions. As to request of local people, CAD has assisted community initiatives of micro-projects in Lautu region, Thang Tlang township, Chin state. In 2008, People from Sate, Hnaring and Khuahrang villages proposed us to assist them Car Road (14feet of width) Building between Sate-Hnaring-Khuahrang villages. With their request, CAD assisted them by providing 72 tons of rice to road builders with the partnership of WFP (one of UN agencies). The project is started in February and is completed in May 16, 2008. Sooner it had been executed, many vehicles enter to Hnaring region by way of Khuahrang-Hnaring road.
